DYLAN >> MECHANICSBURG, PA

Hi!

It's basically August, which means it's basically time for school to start, the leaves to turn [can I get a cheer for pumpkin spice season?!] and SENIORS to start getting their senior photos!  I was so excited when my cousin, Dylan, reached out to me to see if I would mind taking his senior photos.  Dylan is perpetually 10 years old in my head, so it's still hard for me to believe that this is his last year of high school!

Dylan is such a genuinely good person, and taking his senior photos was something I am so very thankful for!  We had so much fun [with half of our family in attendance], mostly because Dylan was so easy going and laid back!  I hope every senior session I have in the future is just as fun as this one!

MARLEY >> HERSHEY, PA

When my cousin told me that her friend had the most beautiful little 8-month old daughter for me to photograph, I was SO excited.  Even though she was sound asleep when she met me at the park, sweet Marley did such a great job throughout our shoot.  We were even able to sneak in a few photos with mom & dad at the end!

Location: Bullfrog Valley Park & Trail [Hershey, PA]

P. SISTERS >> MECHANICSBURG, PA

Tonight I had the chance to meet with one of my favorite families on the whole planet!  Sophia & Athena are two of my former kindergarteners.  Their mom reached out to me to see if I could take birthday photos for her youngest, Helena, since she is turning 2 on Thursday!  Since all three girls would be at the session, we knew it'd be the perfect opportunity for some family photos, too!

Despite an out-of-nowhere downpour & itchy grass, these girls were still so wonderful to work with.  Seriously they are THE sweetest and love each other so much! They also love to play, run, talk about their new kittens [they have 3!] and eat lots of goldfish crackers.  As I said before, I absolutely adore this family & feel so thankful that I got to work with them!

NOREEN >> HBG, PA

Hello, hello!

I had the wonderful privilege of working with Noreen last night in downtown Harrisburg! Noreen contacted me to see if we could take some photos to update her business headshots and I was SO excited! Mother Nature really pulled through for this one, thank goodness, as it rained for much of the day.

Noreen is such a sweetheart and so kind!  She made our session fun & so simple...In fact, we spent a majority of the time talking about how ridiculous it is that we both have sunburnt lips from laying out #summerproblems.  Needless to say, this was a very easy shoot!  Noreen has such a positive energy, and I mean look at her, she's gorgeous!  These were even taken after she had worked all day AND commuted all the way from Philadelphia.  So wonderful!

ERIKA >> MECHANICSBURG, PA

So then, it's Thursday!

Tonight I met up with one of my best friends, Erika.  Over the last few months, she has been living out her dream as a personal trainer and I couldn't be more proud of her!  This girl is seriously one of the most resilient & determined people I have ever met.  When she wants something, she works & hustles until she achieves it.  So often, people don't pursue their dreams because they are scared of failure.  That's not Erika...and she's awesome for that.

Erika has started up a new Instagram page for others to follow her fitness journey [CHECK IT ----> @v3_sallavanti] and we took headshots tonight for that exact purpose!  We had a lot of fun wandering around my apartment complex and taking photos.  I had to play the game "Who would you rather see naked?" in order to get her to loosen up for some of our "fun" photos, but hey...it worked!

BRI & DEAN >> WYTHEVILLE, VA

This past weekend was quite a big adventure!  My sister, nephew, and I traveled from North Carolina to Kentucky to attend our cousin's wedding!  We spent so much time in the car that we actually choreographed a dance to "C'est la Vie" by B*Witched [how's that for a throwback!] and visited like 7 different Sheetz.

At our final hotel stop of the trip, Bri and I discovered that our hotel was actually located in a really beautiful spot that served as the perfect spot for photos!  Remember how I said I LOVE the way that babies look at their moms?  Dean is the perfect example of that look.  He absolutely adores my sister and I am so thankful that I got a chance to capture that with my camera!  I'm absolutely obsessed with his tiny face, the way he sucks his thumb, smiling eyes, and belly laugh.  And my sister, well...she's an absolutely incredible mom, and I totally understand why Dean loves her as much as he does!

CASEY & FAMILY >> MESSIAH COLLEGE

I am writing this blog post from the car as I head to OBX for the week! Shane is driving and we're listening to the podcast "Serial." Finnegan is asleep in the backseat and it's adorable. I'm terrible at helping with directions because I'm too busy eating peach rings and taking pictures of my pup.

 ANYWAYS!

This post comes to you from a session I did yesterday at Messiah College. I met with Shane's cousin, Casey, her little 7-month old sweet pea, Elliot [aka Elli], and her mom + dad. I'm so thankful that I had the opportunity to take some photos of them together, especially so close to Father's Day!

Ever since my sister had her baby, I've found myself noticing that "look" babies give their mothers. You know that "I love you more than anything and you're my entire world," look? It's seriously one of my favorite things, and it's the exact look that Elliot gave Casey every time they were together. You'll see it too, and prepare yourselves, because your heart might burst.

ITALIAN LAKE >> HBG, PA

So today I met up with Ashley to grab lunch [Tomato Pie Cafe, be still my heart] and scope out a new location, Italian Lake.  We had SO much fun, because as previously mentioned, she's basically my twin and who doesn't have fun when they're hanging out with someone who is exactly like they are?  She's also been a freakin' fantastic mentor to me and I am so beyond thankful for all of her support!

Today we saw some sort of miniature otter/rat thing, scary swans & geese, a snapping turtle, and. cute pup named Chico.  We also stumbled upon an abandoned high school that ended up serving as the perfect backdrop for photos!

MICHELLE >> MECHANICSBURG, PA

My session tonight was with one of my dearest friends, Michelle!  The sun was hot and SUPER bright, but we tried our best to work with it!  This girl had the luck of being my roommate freshman year of college and she's been stuck with me ever since.  And let me tell you, she is a WORKER.  In the last year she's had a baby, earned her degree in counseling, AND started her own business selling Isagenix.   I mean, come on!  On top of it all, she remains one of the kindest & most encouraging people I know and one of my very best friends.  Beautiful inside and out, I'm so thankful for her and our amazing friendship!

SO THEN.  To the photos!

KARA & MATT >> HBG, PA

Tonight I got to hang out with Kara & Matt for a while.  They're the first official couple that I got to work with and it was such a great experience!

I have known Kara for so long, and I was thrilled when she reached out to me to take photos for her.  Kara is seriously one of the nicest people I've ever met...She's happy, encouraging, and always has the BEST manicures!  I wasn't at all surprised when I met Matt and learned that he was just as kind as Kara [he took her on a date to play with penguins once, I mean...come on!].

I'm so thankful that these two were patient with me as I worked and entertained themselves with a bunch of one-liners.  They are seriously so perfect together and the best to work with.  They smile, they laugh, and they're so in love.  It's the best thing.

MENTOR SESSION W/ASHLEY >> HBG, PA

So hello!

Blog post #2 coming at you, and I couldn't be more excited!  I had the opportunity to hang out with Ashley today, and it's something I had been looking forward to for a few weeks now.  Ashley is a local photographer that I've been following for a while and she is FANTASTIC.  I was thrilled when she agreed to do my headshots and mix it with a mentor session.

I seriously had the best time!  She taught me so much about photography, and didn't laugh at me when I asked a million silly questions about lighting and shutter speeds!  We learned that we're basically the same person, as we share a love of fitness, wine slushies, black dogs, and eating in general.  The weather was also perfect, which made for such a nice evening!

That all being said, I am so thankful for all of the advice and direction she had to offer, and I can't wait to work together some more in the future!  In the meantime, go and check out her work!  You can find her at: https://www.ashleykemmerphoto.com

Here are a few pictures from our session today...
